Danny Shain, for those who don’t already know, is a country musician from the USA living and recording in Tarapoto, Peru. That, I can safely say, is a unique situation — we don’t get many six-string cowboys round these parts.
Danny is doing something pretty distinct: he’s trying to bring country music to Latinos in the USA and beyond. That involves writing and performing his own country songs with lyrics in both English and Spanish (you can hear some of his tracks on SoundCloud).
I’ll hopefully be writing more about Danny and his music in the near future. For now, I just want to post some photos from Danny’s performance with his band — Walter Ramirez (bass), Nassu Bowé (guitar) and Paul Paredes (drums) — at the Mishtu Mikuna gastronomic fair in Tarapoto. It was a fairly short set — too short — but it was a typically upbeat performance full of fun, passion and plenty of country vibes….

Danny Shain should soon be playing a set at Warmi Bar in Tarapoto. I’ll let you know when the date is confirmed.
Thank you very much for covering our show Tony. Was a good time and yes, I hope to play much longer in the next show.
All the best,
Danny
No problem! Let me know when your next gig comes around.
Unplugged, aka, acoustical show this Friday, 9 pm at the Suchiche Cafe, Tarapoto, Peru. We have made up a kinda cool digital photo background to accompany this intimate show. Just me, the bassist and our drummer who will be using the cajon and congas. Gonna be interesting cuz we haven´t done a show like this before. But, I like the small music scenes too…there are much more personal. Maybe we´ll see ya there. Details on my FB danny.shain2. Thanks again mate. All the best. Danny
